Ohio Skills Bank

Attention: Ohio Skills Bank regional administrators are now accepting "Workforce Innovation Solutions" project ideas from businesses proposing to work with the University System of Ohio's universities, community colleges, and adult career centers to close skills gaps between workforce supply and employer demand.
"The future of jobs growth in Ohio is in investing in our regional strengths and in making sure we have the most educated, highly skilled workforce possible." --Governor Ted Strickland
The Ohio Skills Bank is the process by which the State of Ohio is building a single, integrated adult education workforce system that is directly responsive to the needs of Ohio's employers.
Led by the Ohio Board of Regents - in partnership with the Ohio Department of Development, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, and Workforce Investment Act WIB and career one-stop partners - the State seeks input and engagement of businesses in the State's most critical industries. Employer collaboration is key to transforming Ohio's adult education system into a demand-driven engine of economic development for the State.
Whether employers are calling out for workers with PhD's or GED's, the Ohio Skills Bank process is designed to ensure that – region by region – our institutions offer students those education and training programs necessary for businesses to keep and create Ohio's 21st century jobs. Aligning curriculum and training with industry demand is accomplished with employer engagement, collaboration, deep data analysis and communication.
